Luminosity
The drama of a simple still life. The elegance of the drapery and the shine of the glazed ceramic vessels enticed me to take on the challenge of painting the various textures, trying to attain the softness and undulation of the drapery versus the hard breakable vases.

Old World
My first oil painting. I chose this still life because it reminded me of a Renaissance still life. I am taking AP Art History and Renaissance paintings are some of my favorites. I loved the different heights, planes and lighting. Painting so many textures was challenging, but it was so rewarding; the soft fruit, the shiny copper bowl, the stone pedestal and the craggy bird nest all intrigued me.

Blurred Perception
This painting moves away from realism, exploring abstraction through distorted shapes and blurred edges. A bright green figure appears to glitch into the dark background, breaking apart as if it’s dissolving. The mix of sharp and soft areas creates a sense of movement, making the figure feel like it's shifting or disappearing. This piece experiments with form and color to explore ideas of identity and change.
